I have tried using my original MS Office disc, and have also downloaded MS Office 2010 from the web, but I get the same error message: 'Error 1317: Setup Cannot Create Directory C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Office'. I'm now trying to install MS Office 2010 on the machine, but the MS Office setup.exe program keeps telling me 'Error 1317: Setup Cannot Create Directory C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Office', and then rolls back and cancels the installation. Note: if you use Webroot with HelpCloud membership services that you’ll need to contact us to disable it! We manage it so you don’t have to.I just upgraded to Windows 10 unfortunately the Windows 10 upgrade corrupted my Start menu and tray bar, so I decided to do a clean install - which also means I have to reinstall all my programs. Resolution 2: Temporarily Disable your Antivirus or Firewall Follow the stages there to finish reinstallation. Step 7: Clock on ”Office 365 setup”, and select the install option presented. Step 5: Follow the prompts on the screen to perform a uninstall of the Office product. In this case ”Office 365” or ”Office Suite” and press the ”Remove” option. Step 4: In the list provided find and select the Office product we want to remove. Note: make sure that you have your product key or know your account information prior to doing this. Sub-resolution of this is to remove/uninstall Office 365 from your computer. You can also select their ”Online Repair” option if this doesn’t resolve it. Step 6: Click on ”Quick Repair” and click again on the tab that presents the option ”Repair”. Step 5: Click the button above saying ”Change”. Step 4: Select the Office product that you’re looking to repair (in this instance ”Office 365”).
